Harry was one of twelve children and with his brother Philip worked on a farm in Pingelly. He married Bella Forsyth of Pingelly. They settled on a farm jointly owned with Philip Higginson at North Kellerberrin. Harry and Bella had two children, Ailsa and Ethel.
