Licencee of Rockingham Arms, east Rockingham, Stirling Arms, Guilford and Freemasons Hotel, Fremantle. Owner of brigantine "Mary Herbert". Died at sea on maiden voyage, sank with all hands off the coast of WA near Augusta. Succeeded by son James Albert, owner of Federal Hotel, Fremantle.
