Arrived after being demobbed from the Royal Navy in Singapore. An abiding passion for science led to a career in laboratories in Yorkshire and Maribyrnong, Victoria, then selling electronic laboratory instruments. Married Valerie Howcroft 1965, moved to Perth 1969, adopted two daughters Bronwen and Madeline. Interests - audio (hi-fi) and photography.
