Her mother died when she was 3 years old and had been cared for by her maternal Grandparents. She came to WA to join her father, John Hedges, who first arrived in Melbourne in 1889. She lived in Museum St. Perth before marrying George H Harrop on 15/7/1915. Living in Highgate, WA before moving to Northam, WA with son Thomas who was born on 4/5/1916.
