Worked for Slades on Glenavon. Met Mary McPhail. They married in 1855. Later owned property. They had 12 children. Their sixth child Mary married Thadius Roberts, a Ticket of Leave man. They were my grandparents.

  • Mary Hastings'son Alexander Francis McDermott adopted the surname Roberts and married Mary Ann Walker in Collie on 7 June 1913. Died in 1939 (East Coolgardie) and is buried in Karrakatta Cemetary.

  • Mary Ann Walker died in Perth on 16 November 1946 aged 67 and was buried with her husband in Karrakatta.
