John arrived in the colony as a convict and was given a 'ticket of leave' on arrival. On becoming a 'free man' in Sept 1855 he moved to Toodyay and on 1st Feb 1859 married Anne James. They had 2 surviving children, Edmund Glover, born in1862 and William W.

Details of “Minden”: wooden sailing vessel, 3 masted, ship ridges built in Sunderland, UK, in 1848. It weighed 916 tons, and its measurements were 148 x 33.3 x 25.5 feet.
