I believe this Ethel Hartley is my paternal grandmother, born December 23 1904, emigrating at age 4. Ethel and her sister Elsie grew up in Jandakot, and the family ran the Jandakot Hotel. Her father had worked on the Railways in Denmark WA and lost an eye.
Elsie married Alf Gillham , Ethel married Leslie George Green and the two couples went on to run the Mt Hawthorn Hotel.

Further to my previous email...re Ethel Hartley b1904.
I've now established that my Grandmothers parents were William and Mary Hartley. So this is not the same Ethel. Thanks!
