Arthur traveled alone aged 18 years. His mother, brothers, Harry & Bert & sister, Gladys arrived into Albany on the Themistocles on 8th August 1921. Arthur later settled in Williams, Western Australia. He died in Narrogin & is buried in Williams where his family are farmers. He married Edmunda Edith Graham at Williams on 20 November 1937 & his two children, Gloria & Graham were born in Williams in 1939 & 1940. His business of garage, oil depot, mail run, school bus run, car dealership & farm dealership was successful. After selling his business in the mid 1960's, he retired to his son's farm at Dookening on the Quindanning Road. He enlisted in the AIF in 1941 & served in Queensland as a trainer in mechanical engineering. He was highly regarded in the Williams area, as he was involved in local community activities & provided support & assistance for anyone seeking help. His funeral was attended by many hundreds of people, who came as a mark of respect & affection for Arthur, whose caring & selfless personality was well recognised by those who knew him.
