Arrived Albany "Pacific" 1855. Waited several weeks for ship to Swan River Settlement. Finally left with 3 carts, 4 horses, wife & 4 children on an overland trip taking 14 days. Minister of Wesley Methodist Church Perth. Opened Chapels in South Perth & Greenough. Member of Boy's School Education Committee Est. by Irwin.

  • Samuel was the brother of Joseph Hardey whose National Trust property Tranby House is located in Maylands. The family lived there for a time.

  • Samuel Hardey was the brother of Joseph and John Wall Hardey who settled on the peninsula in Maylands. Joseph’s house Tranby is part of the National Trust. The family moved to South Africa in the 1860s to further Methodism.
