Aged 9, one of 37 boys chosen from orphanages throughout the UK under a government sponsored Child Migrant Scheme in conjunction with the Christian Brothers. We arrived at Fremantle aboard the "Straithaird" on 9th August 1938 and then went to school at Tardun Agricultural School.
