Evelyn and Ken married in Laindon, Essex in September 1961 and set sail for Australia the following June. They were the first of either family to emigrate but were soon followed by others. Ken transferred out with The Bank of Adelaide and Evelyn joined Dawsons, The Florists, in Barrack Street.
