Read their story

Came to Australia to seek a better life after the war. Arrived in Northam, Western Australia eventually moving up to Wittenoom to work in the mines. He was lonely and befriended a pen friend in Germany 'Maria-Elisabeth Boeckel' (Liz). Liz came to Australia aboard the 'Flavia" to marry Hermann in 1965.
