George and Helen Gurney with their daughters Judith, Patricia and Christine were amongst the first 208 British migrants to arrive in WA under the Commonwealth Nominee Scheme. They were also amongst the first 53 families to be accommodated at Graylands Hostel. They settled in Swanbourne where their son Timothy was born.
