Lorenzo Gotardo Guglielmana left Italy in 1951 to join his brother in law Pio DeBoni in Carnarvon. He left his wife Giulia Albina, son Gordano and unborn daughter Silvana. They were to follow later in 1953. Another daughter, Eva was born in 1957.
