James Robert Green arrived in Fremantle in November 1947 as one of “Britain's Lost Children” and spent the following 10 years in Castledare Boys Home, Bindoon Boys Town and Clontarf Boys Home. This is what Mr Green has to say about his time in these institutions: “As more time passes, it becomes harder to forgive the enormity of what the British Government permitted to happen to its own offspring after deporting them. And even harder to accept its right to offer our country to total strangers upon our (ie. the childrens') dismissal.
