Born in Balloch, Scotland, Emily travelled to Fremantle as a single woman. She married Charles Hepburn in Geraldton in 1911. They worked throughout the Central West & had six children; Charles (Mick), Ronald, Jack, Elizabeth (Betty Giles/Bradley), Andrew & Colin. Emily became the grandmother of eighteen grandchildren. She died in Manning at the age of 81.
