Following his father's death at the age of 66 in 1898 he continued to live with his mother in Fawley [20] [21]
In 1901 he was working as a Coachman and in 1911 as a Gardener [20]
Departed from London, England on the steamship Osterley on 11 October 1912 bound for Fremantle, Western Australia [203]
