My father became a farmhand. Served in the Army during WWI. Started farming on return from war. Married in 1921 and had two sons. Lived until the age of 101 in Mount Barker, Western Australia.

  • Cecil was my great-uncle. His brother Percy was my grandfather.

    1. He and Percy met by accident on the battlefield in France after Cecil had moved to Oz and joined that army

    2. I met Cecil when he came over to Ipswich many years ago and the two of us went to the local football match and saw Stanley Matthews playing for Stoke against Ipswich.
