Martha (Mattie) Gibson (2) was accompanied on the journey to Australia by her grandmother Agnes. They were to join Mattie's father, Alex, who had earlier come to WA in search of work. He had worked at the Clydebank shipyards in Glasgow. Mattie's mother had died.
