Upon arrival in Fremantle, travelled to Bridgetown to work as a railway sleeper cutter. Within a few months established a tailor business in partnership with a local farmer friend. 1942 - 45 served in Australian Army. 1946 - 72 operated a tailor business from 44 High Street, Fremantle. 1950 built family home at 36 Solomon Street Fremantle.
