Thomas and Mary Ann Gardiner are my great, great great paternal Grandparents.
- The Sultana was a convict ship and Thomas was a 'Pensioner Guard' on the ship.
- Interesting it appears the entire family journeyed to Australia on the convict ship and Thomas and Mary Ann's daughter Sultana was actually born on the voyage and named after the ship.
- Thomas and Mary Ann's Grandson Evanhugh Gardiner from Busselton (by their son John Gardiner and Anne Forrest) was according to his Australian War Memorial WWI military record, shot twice at Gallipoli, shipped to England to recover from his wounds before being redeployed in France.
