WW1 veteran, William, wife Mary Ellen and nine children were victims of the failed Group Settlement Scheme. Mary's death forced him to work in the Goldfields and place his youngest children into orphanages. He is remembered as a pioneer of the Busselton region. Descendants exceed 60.
