Jean and Joe Gallinagh sailed into Fremantle on 24 January 1948 onboard the passenger ship RHS ‘Orion', they were accompanied by their family of five daughters and had arrived from County Donegal in Ireland. Jean & Joe had left Western Australia in April 1939 for a holiday in Ireland to visit Joe's family, but due to the outbreak of the 2nd World War they were unable to return to Western Australia until after the war. Whilst in Ireland Jean & Joe brought a dairy farm in County Donegal and Joe traded in horses and cattle to help support the family. On their return to Western Australia in 1948 the family first settled on a farm in the District of Williams where they're first son Michael was born, then in May 1949 the family moved to a virgin farm in the District of Corrigin where they settled to raise their family and become part of the towns farming complete with seven children, Jean & Joe continued with their life on the Corrigin farm until they both retired in the 1970's. Then their son Vincent with his wife Sue continued to live and work the family farm up to this present day.
