Happy to arrive in Fremantle a free young man. He travelled to Queensland to cut cane and become Sam. Many jobs followed - carwashing, barwork & crayfishing. Married in 1965, two children by 1970, forced out of crayfishing by pneumonia, he worked in industrial insulation until retiring to become a Nonno.
