Maria (6) migrated from Italy with her mother Caterina in 1930 to join her father Domenico on his farm in Benger where she worked during WW2. She married fellow migrant Guiseppe Demarte in 1945 and continued to farm potatoes for another 30 years. Retired to Australind and later Bunbury.
