The Franceschini Family, consisting at that time of Mario, Olga (nee Diletti) and Daughter Ivalda (aged four) left their village in Toscany, Italy, for a better life. They worked for their family in a market garden. When war broke out, Mario was manpowered to work for James Hardie making asbestos products. After adding two sons, Will and Frank, they settled in Tuart Hill.
