Mary trained as a Psychiatric Nurse. Married John Henry Bisley in 1924; 2 children resulted - Sheila & John. Mary & John were Superintendant & Matron of the Native Hospital, Port Hedland for many years. At age 52 she became the first Welfare Officer with the Mental Health Department.
