Left Ash, England aged 21 'to satisfy boyhood love of adventure and to farm'. First 6 mnths at Chapman research station for experience. Bought 1000 acres at Nabawa Geraldton. Lived in tents 3 years. Married Jean Downs. Australian born daughters Anne, Betty, Margaret. Successfully grew wheat and sheep. Depression made it difficult. Returned 1947, visited UK - first time in years!
