William Flanagan left Clydeside as the ship building industry was coming to an end and accompanied by his wife and 5 children travelled to Whyalla SA to work in the shipyard there. 3 more children were born there, Mary, Geraldine M and Michael Robert. The family moved to WA in 1977 where William died in 1981.
