Sailed from Tilbury aboard Chitral via Algiers, Suez Canal and Aden. Disembarked Fremantle in 40º heat. Delayed at Suez because Princess Elizabeth was expected. Did not arrive however, as she was called home from South Africa due to death of her father, King George. Hilda still lives in Lathlain "in the house that Jack built".
