Robert was a stonemason with Richard Lewis, contracted to build the Round House, Fremantle. • As a family member, I recognise that Robert Ferres settled, excavated, built on, and benefited from, stolen land, and that buildings such as the Round House facilitated the unjust imprisonment of Aboriginal people. For this, I am deeply sorry.

I acknowledge the Whadjuk people as the traditional custodians of the beautiful land and waters we now call Fremantle. I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and future.
