Pierce Farrell was sentenced to 14 yrs deportation for twice striking his sergeant in the Royal Marines and then deserting his unit. When he arrived in Fremantle some time later he was pardoned. He married Margaret Desmon a WA girl at Greenough in home of Henry Gray.
