Flew to Singapore and caught the Eastern Queen in June 1974 aged 19. Accompanied by Robert Boxell. Cost £185.00 one-way. Singapore would not let anyone with long hair in so had to have a haircut to catch the boat. Registered for work on arrival. Dole money $26.00 per week. Rented in Highgate.
