  • this man was my grandads brother who went over to Australia. This family came from a small village in Fife not far from St Andrews. My dad who is now dead once went to look at the house where they once lived. It just so happens that the person who lived in the house was outside who happened to be an historian. He told my dad that when he first moved in there were panels on the walls that he decided to pull down. When he did this he discovered some buttons with the Doig Initials on it. He reckoned this person was a prestigious taylor of this time.
