Sent to Army Barracks in Cunderdin. Men separated from wives and sent to work in Kalgoorlie in the mines, transline, powerhouse. Milun obtained work in the powerhouse, Herta stayed behind as she was pregnant, had a still born child in January 1951. She later went to Kalgoorlie to be with Milun.
