Edward Dillimore first visited Fremantle in 1924 on the Battle Cruiser HMS Repulse which along with five other ships from the 1st Light Cruiser Squadron, was accompanying the battleship HMS Hood on a goodwill world cruise 1923-1924. "The Hood" at that time was the largest battleship in the world.
