Nicola arrived in 1952, aged 27 leaving wife Iole, daughter Maria, 6 months old in Scerni, Abruzzo. Found work at W.A. Railways. In 1955 his family joined him. Son John born 1956. Settling in Victoria Park and later Belmont. Worked at Swan Brewery until retirement in 1989.
