Alfredo was 16 year of age when he arrived in Fremantle, first settling in Victoria Park where he picked up a job as an apprentice cabinet maker. He then moved to the south-west town of Nannup working in the local timber mill. He tried his hand at whatever work he could find in the early days, including grape picking & swimming pool construction, before settling on the building industry as a grano worker from which he retired in 2006. He met Maria Del-Re whilst living in Nannup & they married in 1965. They lived in Mt Hawthorn initially, before setting up the family home in Balcatta where they had three children - Lucia, Annalisa & Steven. He is the proud Nonno of one grandchild to date.
