Stefano arrived in Fremantle in 1903 aged 16. At 21 he returned to Italy and married Caterina De Paoli. He returned to work at Leonora on the woodline & mines. He was joined in 1916 by his wife & son Lorenzo, born in 1909. He settled on a dairy farm in Pinjarra after his wife died at 33.
