Giacomo de Palma arrived in Fremantle in 1950 in search of a better life and help support his siblings in Italy. For the next 30 years he worked as a fisherman, working in Shark Bay, Lancelin and Fremantle 1953. He married Magdalena Caputi and together had 5 children.
