Ada and her mother Maria sailed out from Italy to join her sister Augusta, who was already married and settled in Kalamunda. One year later Franco Piva sailed out from Italy to join up with and marry Ada in Kalamunda on the 19th November 1960. They had two boys, Ruben and Ivan.
