Mother and three children departed Holland on 14/08/1952. Father came by plane the previous year to find employment and accommodation. The later became the first martial arts instructor in WA. The family had a difficult time adjusting to the "pioneer" conditions of life in Wanneroo and times were extremely difficult in the early days. 2 more children were born in WA.
