Havard, a Bricklayer and his wife Ethel took advantage of a £10 passage on board the 'Otranto' in 1951 to provide a better lifestyle for their four young daughters. Jean, Betty and twins Carol and Pearl. All had highly successful careers and were forever thankful for their parents wisdom.
