Raffaele, one of ten children came to Australia 1956 for a better life. He first worked at a nursery and later bought land and established a market garden. He married in 1960 and had a son and daughter. He also worked at Fremantle Hospital for 20 years. Now retired. He plays lawn bowls for spearwood.
