Son of William & Mary. Joined the Royal Navy at age 12. Worked his passage as a steward on the 'Medina'. Established himself as a ship owner & trader, butcher, store owner & founded the 'Stags Head Inn'. Married Suzannah Glindon 2/6/1836 & had four children. A pioneer of WA.
