Francesco's family departed Italy on the ship “Ravello” arriving in Fremantle on the 9th January 1952. They included his wife Giuditta (39) and children Maria (11), Carmelo (8), Giuseppina (5) and Anna (3). Antonio was later born in Harvey on the 7th October 1952.
