William (many different spellings of his surname - see publication, “William & Elizabeth Criddle” by Roy Criddle) was an indentured servant to Alfred Hawestone - solicitor. After his release he built the Toodyay Police Barracks in 1842. Married Elizabeth Thomas in 1840 - 14 children - 7 boys and 7 girls.
