Alfred and Hilda migrated to WA after a long service in British Army in South Africa and India attaining the rank of Captain. They arrived with 3 daughters, Beatrice aged 11, Muriel aged 10 and Daphne aged 6. Another daughter Dorothy was born in Cottesloe. They resided in Cottesloe for 40 years.
