Charles lived and worked with Airlines in various parts of the north of WA and the NT before retiring to Perth in 1989. Shirley continued nursing in local hospitals. Children received education through the government system.

50 years on...I was that 2 year old, now I am 52, married with 2 boys, to the son of an Italian immigrant who arrived in Fremantle in 1955 (Fremantle panel 175). Today we will take Mum (now 80) back to multicultural Freo to commemorate where it all began... our family's arrival on the Fairstar half a century ago - we are forever thankful to Dad and Mum for making that decision to leave England behind seeking the best life for us all here in Australia - so brave, so selfless. And the journey continues... Remembering Dad today with love.
