James worked at land clearning prior to taking up farming land at Wilgoyne via Mukinbudin in 1929. Raising a family of six, Ben, Margaret, Bernetta, George, Rosemary & Phyllis. After many years of hardship building up their farm they enjoyed retirement in Rockingham
